The Tree….fancy-fied = El Arbol

So my fabulous hairdresser introduced me to the amazing yelp app as he handed me his phone and swirled me in the salon chair.  The phone displayed all the restaurants in that specific direction and within a close proximity.  After going full circle in the chair, my friend and I decided on El Arbol for drinks and apps.  The atmosphere was awesome as the large tree covered the airy-open patio with the 3 man band jamming along as we sipped our delicious caipirinhas!  I was new to this tasty little beverage! It reminded me of a mojito sin mint.  No surprise….here’s the wiki def:
Caipirinha (Portuguese pronunciation: [kajpiˈɾĩɲɐ]) is Brazil's national cocktail, made with cachaça (pronounced [kaˈʃasɐ]), sugar and lime

SUP = Stand Up Paddleboarding

This is all the rage for a fun summer workout in Austin and has every right to be!  I was afraid the rocky waters of Lake Austin would have offered a larger swimming experience than paddle boarding so we decided to SUP on Town Lake.  The initial stand up was a little unstable but after a few minutes it was smooth sailing:)  Although, I must give fair warning that both myself and my friend's pinky toes were numb by the end of the hour.  That aside, I highly recommend this and look forward to going again!

Master Pancake Theatre

This was quite the little treat!  Although I was really envisioning pancakes for dinner that’s not exactly what was in store.  Three hilarious comedians commentated on an old movie, none other than ‘Independence Day’, to represent their patriotic pride.  After all, it was the 4th of July.  Not only did they have us rolling the whole time but we had balcony seating! The balcony is awesome because you watch the movie in the most comfortable, reclining couches ever!  This is by far the way to go at Alamo Draft House!...unless you’re sleepy and then, you might need the rigid, upright chairs below.  I also highly recommend the popcorn.  This is not your typical drenched, fake buttery popcorn.  I mean, seriously, I felt like Rachel Ray was in the kitchen! Who ever whipped us up this little, delicious concoction of pesto spice to saturate the popcorn is genius!
